A social policy planning and institutional development specialist with over 25 years of consulting experience in India; a development economist and urban planner by training she has cross sectoral expertise with a focus on sectors like water, sanitation, urban development and livelihood. Also have strong programme and team management skills and have led several pro poor consultancy projects in India.
Specialise in poverty research, pro poor strategy, programme appraisals, design and planning; midterm reviews, terminal evaluations and impact assessments, participatory appraisals; developing programmes and projects using Logframes and Right Based Approach. Has experience in training and research on urban poverty, poverty and vulnerability mapping; urban planning and management with focus on slum development and provision of basic services; public- private partnerships; livelihood; formative and action research; expertise in qualitative, participatory and quantitative methodologies.
Have worked with a wide range of clients including DFID, World Bank, UNICEF and INGOs like OXFAM, Save the Children (Finland), WaterAid, apart from the federal and state governments in India. She has also collaborated with universities in UK and USA on urban poverty and partnership focused research.
